Dashboard is Visually Messed Up

  • Unknown's avatar

Hey, everyone – As of yesterday, and all of a sudden, my dashboard looks like it’s “under construction”, and it’s visually messed up. Buttons are missing, everything is out of place, and it’s like it was in the middle of an upgrade visually….The only thing I did was add a second blog to my profile, and I didn’t mess with any settings, so this seems bizarre.

Anyone else’s dashboard look different in the last 24-48 hours?

    Thanks,

    Jeff

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

CTRL-F5 (Forced refresh) totally fixed it!

Good to know for anyone else having an issue. It could be something this simple.

    G’day Jeef,
I’m happy to hear you solved your problem. Forced refresh is very useful in the case of browser issues and instructions for both forced refresh and clearing browser cache and cookies are included in the support documentation here. > http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#force-refresh
Best wishes with your blog. :)

Though some people are saying the problem is resolved for wordpress.com accounts, I know that I am still suffering from noticeable issues with the interface. The dashboard looks a bit pooched as does the post section where you edit an entry. The latter is such that I can’t even schedule because the date details don’t come up when I hit the edit button. It is bit frustrating, but I guess that I will have to wait until things are back to normal before I am able to make some of my posts go live.

Apart from minor hiccups such as this one,, I really love the service provided by wordpress.com.

    @keikomushi
Please be sure that your have gone through the troubleshooting suggestions below and if your problem still persists please report it to Staff.

    1. Some issues that you encounter with your WordPress.com blog or account can be solved by changing your browser settings, refreshing the page, or clearing the browser cache and cookies. See here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/ The instructions for specific browsers are found here > http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050

    2. Some issues can be resolved by using another browser? If you haven’t tried another one then I suggest that you do.

    3. Some issues can be caused by not updating your Flash. You can use this link to see if your flash is up to date. http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ If it’s not then go to http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/ and download and install the latest version of flash.

    4. Lastly, when contacting Staff in order to avoid a time delay in finding a solution and applying it please do not forget to include details in your support ticket. Staff need to know what operating system you are using, which browser and version of it you are using, if you tried another browser or not and what the results were, whether or not your Flash is up to date, and how you are connecting to the internet and to wordpress.com.

Supplying these details up front in your support ticket means Staff won’t have to employ back and forth email exchange with you in order to obtain relevant details and that means they can identify the source of the problem and provide a solution quickly.

Best wishes for a happy ending. :)
