‘Dashboard’ referral/ tracking question

    1)
I believe I logged off and visited someone’s blog yesterday.
But in case if I forgot clicking ‘Log out’ and went to another blog on wordpress.com by typing the URL(not clicking), the person can see who came to the blog on dashboard or somewhere?

    2)
I see ‘Dashboard’ on my referral. what does this mean? Could it be related with the question 1?

    1) If one can track back what page you came from when you typed the url in they would have to log in anyways as your login status in held on the computer you are using. An outsider (on another computer) would have to login as their IP address would be different. The new url (typed or clicked)starts a different session in the browser. Only your IP address could be tracked and there isn’t a non-technical way to link together all the sites visited by one IP address. I have done this jumping from logged in sites to other sites a lot myself without problem. (I say no one can do this but technical experts can do a lot of this though it requires special knowledge and programs the ordinary person doesn’t have or wouldn’t know how to operate)

    2) The referral in the Dashboard means that your link came up in their dashboard as one of the favorites or showing one of the recent postings. You can see this too in Global Dashboard. If you clicked any of those WordPress links then they would get the referral from Dashboard.

Not anything to worry about I think.

thank you so much! there’s also an outcoming address(someone’s dashboard) on my dashboard. i guess the person clicked my new post on his/her dashboard and went back.
