Dashboard Screen Options not Sticking
-
I noticed today the Dashboard has changed. I do not really have an opinion on that other than I would like my drafts to show. I went to the Screen Options to click on what is now called “Quick draft”, and hide Activity. It will work immediately after I make the changes, but even just going to a different page within the Dashboard and then coming back to the home page, everything reverts to how it was originally- no Drafts and showing Activity.
Before this new change, as far as I know, any changes I made with the Screen Options did stick.

Hi there,
I’ll tag this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting. -
We’ve noticed this too and looking into it. In our initial testing, the changes did save, but aren’t returned immediately—going back a minute or two later has been showing me my changes.
Still not how it should work though. Thanks for the report.

Thanks for whatever it is you did. Things are easier, BUT, I can no longer access my dashboard menu. It’s just no longer there. What’s up with that?

@grenadejay
Please do not rabbit hop from thread to thread posting on the same issue as that may lead to your requests for help falling through the cracks. Posting into one thread on any given issue is what we recommend. -
kraftbj,
I want to let you know it works now. I noticed it last night, but wanted to wait until I logged in this morning and the options I want all stick.
Thank you for getting this fixed.

Thank you for reporting it! The worst is when something isn’t quite right and the folks who notice it are frustrated without letting us know.
Have a great day!

I am also having problems with the screen options not sticking.
I set the screen layout setting to 1 column,
but after saving a draft , the setting reverts to 2 columns,
which means after each save I have to reset after each draft.*Editor page for http://echopen.wordpress.com
*I am using Firefox 26.
*troubleshooting: cleared cash and cookies… did fix the problem.thanks.

I went ahead and tagged this for staff again, since it appears it required staff help for the Original-Poster.
thanks.

Hi Chris,
There is a delay between when the screen options are changed and when they’re applied for some users. Typically, if they’re not applied immediately, they will be within 20 minutes.
We have it on the roadmap to smooth this out.
Cheers!

I was glad to see this is not closed yet.
I have several images in the Media Library that are unattached and I desired to have the comments turned on for those. I did find Discussion as one of the settings within the screen options, so turned that on. Like what happened to the Dashboard, this is not sticking. But I just noticed you said it may take 20 minutes, so I will go back and see if it is resolved later.
I hope I can explain this before I forget, if it doesn’t work. After showing Discussion, I mark the appropriate box, then click Update. Right after the page uploads again, the discussion box is hidden. But when I view the attachment page, the comment box is available. That is the important thing. :)
