dashboard stats – referer
-
I posted to my blog today and within 45 minutes I received 107 hits that were referred by alphainventions.com. and counting. I don’t know if they are authentic views or if there is something on that site (it is in constant motion) that is assaulting my post, for some reason. Are you able to tell what has happened?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You need to go to alphinventions.com and find the link there so that you can tell them to remove your blog from their service. They are not authentic views. It is a place that has a “blog” rotator that just cycles through blogs when someone comes to visit their site and if someone leaves a browser tab or window open with it active, you can get literally thousands of hits on one post in one day. All their service does is inflate hits as far as I can see.

Take a look at this other thread.
Seems all you have to do is visit this link: http://alphainventions.com/block
-
Actually they seem to have changed things. Go to this link: javascript:imoff(),navigate%20(‘link?=/contact’) and there is a link where you can submit to have your blog removed.
Note that when I visited the above link, my browser reported 8 errors and would not completely load that contact page.

I had mail.live.com as a referer today. How can this be? Does it mean someone received a link to my blog via email?
-
Hi jtlindsey,
Yes, that’s correct. It means that someone clicked a link to your blog from their webmail client.
Please let us know if you have any more questions!

@jtlindsey
No wonder you are confused. the situation is assinine. In order to your blog removed from alphainventions despite the fact you did not register with them or permit them to enter your blog into their system you have to post to their site and have your blogs removed.To remove your blog from alphainventions.com submit your blog url here http://alphainventions.com/block

@jtlindsey
R: the email
Also note that someone could have used the “email to a friend” feature and sent your link to a friend by email. The friend then clicked the link and arrived in your blog. -
Thanks for clearing that one up. I don’t actually have any issue with alphainventions, i think it was mact 2 who orginally had the problem, I was just chiming in.
