Dashboard: Under Settings, Reading, Front Page option is not coming up.

    Hi there — this is an unresolved query that I’m still having problems with, despite the kind reply of Happy last month. I just cannot see the Front Page Display under Settings, Reading. It’s not there, even after I publish posts. What am I doing wrong?

    I am trying to create a link to my blog posts on my front or home page. I am following the instructions on the link below by going to Settings- — Reading, but my Front Page Displays option is not coming up.

    The top of my page reads: Blog Pages Show at Most, Syndications Feeds Show the most Recent, For each article in a feed show… etc etc. I have posted a screen shot on my media section in the dashboard. Can you help?

    Hi there,

    No problem. Sounds like in your excitement you are skipping the first step on that document you linked to:

    Start off by creating the page you’d like to use as your homepage, via Pages >> Add New in your dashboard. Call it “Home” [then] create a second, blank page from the same menu and call it something like “News” or “Blog” …

    Up to this point, you had no pages on your site, which is why you can’t find that setting; it is hidden until you create your first page.

    To get you started, I have created those first two pages for you (Home and Blog) and next time you go ti Settings>Reading, you will see “Front page displays” setting that you are looking for. :)
