Data Import

I keep getting the error – there don’t appear to be any authors in your import file. This zip file was sent to me by my current web designer.

Hi there,
Can you please let us know your site URL so as to have a clear idea about your issue.
Thanks!

Thanks. Are you using the WordPress importer tool on that site? I don’t see any activity there.
-
As far as I am aware that is what I have been using. I’m trying to import the information through my site on WordPress under import.

Hi there,
The author section of the file you are importing must be missing.
If you want to edit the file yourself, open the file and find:
<wp:base_blog_url>http://nameofsite.com</wp:base_blog_url>http://nameofsite.comwould obviously be replaced with whatever is the domain name of your site. You would find that section in the file. Right under that section, you will add this:<wp:author><wp:author_id>1</wp:author_id><wp:author_login><![CDATA[justanauthor]]></wp:author_login><wp:author_email><![CDATA[(email visible only to moderators and staff)]]></wp:author_email><wp:author_display_name><![CDATA[anauthorname]]></wp:author_display_name><wp:author_first_name><![CDATA[]]></wp:author_first_name><wp:author_last_name><![CDATA[]]></wp:author_last_name></wp:author>Save the file and try to import it again to see if you have any success.
Let us know if you prefer us to handle that and we’ll see if we can get the XML file from you.
Thanks,

I’m afraid that is a little over my head. If someone is able to help that would be great. Just let me know what I need to do.
Thank you!
