Database backup?

How do I backup my database? I need to download my database to my computer.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Sorry to say that you are posting in the wrong forum. These are the forums for sites hosted by WordPress.com. The site you’ve linked to is a self-hosted WordPress install.
Please head over to http://wordpress.org/support/
For clarity: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

I didn’t even realize this was a forum. I thought I was emailing tech support. But my blog was originally hosted at wordpress.com and when I go to my old dashboard it’s thegeekiary.wordpress.com/wp-admin
So even if it says .com it’s not actually .com?

The Contact Support form reroutes to the forums at the moment.
But thegeekiary.com isn’t hosted on .com, it’s a self-hosted WordPress install. That’s why I directed you to the ORG forums.
As far as your old WordPress.com website, we don’t have access to any database, only the Export XML file, http://en.support.wordpress.com/export/
Note: This will ONLY export your posts, pages, comments, categories, and tags; uploads and images may need to be manually transferred to the new blog
Did you do the export yourself or via “Guided Transfer” upgrade?
-
I exported it myself. Almost all the content exported fine, but all the posts on the new place are now attributed to me and our images didn’t transfer to our media folder (but are still showing up in the posts, oddly enough). I was told by GoDaddy support that I needed to contact wordpress support and download the database for everything to transfer over. The solution for the images is to just go through our 150+ posts and save the images and then reupload them and set them as a featured image, which is possible but time consuming. I have no idea how to fix the problem that all posts are now being attributed to me and me alone. We have a dozen authors. Is there a way to export that from my old wordpress.com account to this one? Or is that a question for wordpress.org as well? I want my authors to get credit for the amazing work they did.

You might get a faster reply over at the ORG forums at the moment, but I’ll tag this for Staff input. Please subscribe to this discussion so that you’ll see their reply.

Excellent thank you. I’ve crossposted my other post to the .org forums. Since I didn’t realize I had already posted on the forum with this post I accidently posted this: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/switch-from-wp-to-godaddy-images-gone-authors-uncredited?replies=1
It’s much more detailed, but I’ve explained everything here too. Sorry for the double post. But that other more detailed post is what I crossed posted to .org.
All this went down shortly after midnight at it’s 6:45am and I haven’t slept yet so words cannot describe how appreciative I am for your help. Thank you.

The people at wordpress.org sent me back here. What I’m doing now is just going through and manually changing everything by hand. It’s a super long process, but it’s all I have at this point really.

I did tag this thread for Staff input. There will be a delay because of their get-together, but someone will reply.
