    I’m only just trying to install the client on my home computer and all I’m getting is pages of code. I am NOT a programmer, and I thought this application might be an easy way to manage my website, but it has given me nothing but headaches. please help.

    Hi there,

    Currently, there is no desktop client from WordPress.com. To manage your website’s settings, you’ll need to use the Web interface here at WordPress.com, or the iOS or Android applications.

    If you’d like to create new Posts from a desktop client, we recommend connecting one of these other applications:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/xml-rpc/

    If you have pages of code, it sounds like you recently downloaded the files from WordPress.org — these are meant to be used if you want to run a local install of WordPress, or install WordPress into a self-hosted environment. Those files are not needed to create or manage a site on WordPress.com
