Database Lost?

When I first started my blog it was fabelements.com and I purchased the domain and other services through WordPress. When my 1 year was up and it was time to renew, I couldn’t afford to and figured I would be fine having the .wordpress.com part because my blog isn’t really that big anyways. I went to go add more stuff to my blog and all of my posts (except my first one) got deleted as well with all of the editing and work that I put into how I wanted it to look.
Is there any way I can get this data back preferably without paying? And if paying is the only option then how do I know for sure that I will have it all back?

    Thank you!

  • The domain fabelements.com appears to have been located on Bluehost servers and not on WordPress.com. Is that correct? If so, did you export any content or try to move the site to WordPress.com before discontinuing hosting on another provider?

Yes that is correct about hosting it on Bluehost! And I did not try and export any of the info before discontinuing. Does that mean that all of the content is gone forever or should I try and contact Bluehost?

  • So all the content (files and database) were stored on Bluehost servers. You might have seen posts here via the Jetpack connection to WordPress.com, but none of the content was stored here. Your site fabelements.wordpress.com was a completely separate site.

Cancelling hosting means the site was discontinued. You would need to contact Bluehost to ask if they still have that content or if they deleted it by this point. There’s no way to know, but give it a try!
