databases in WordPress websites

  I am new to WordPress and want to develop a website. My website needs a database. So, I want to know if WordPress provide databases? and if so are they MYSQL? Can I deal with them using PHP? It would be helpful if there is a link to an article or video to explain this part. Also, I would like to know if they are free or not? and if not, how much they cost?

  If you plan on hosting your site with us, we offer access to the MySQL database as well as to the PHP files. You can read more here:

  Please note that access to the above features requires a Business or eCommerce plan. The rest of our plans do not allow access to the database, as all the configuration, maintenance, and updates are performed by us.

  So if I purchased foe example the business plan I will have an access to a database and can access it using PHP right?
