date bug
-
Hi guys! I have this bug on my blog, it shows m/d/y instead of an actual date. Just the letters. Tried changing date format but it doesn’t help. Please advice!

Hi there.
I noticed that within the last 24 hours you switched the language of your account from Russian to English, yes? Is this an issue that started around that time? Or have you had an issue with post dates displaying incorrectly before you made that change?
Thanks for the additional info!

Hi, no, the problem was before that, that’s why I tried changing the language and the date format. I don’t even know when it started tbh, I didn’t pay attention, I saw it looked like this on previews but I thought it looked like this just for me.
Only when I checked my blog from a different pc where I wasn’t logged in, I realized that it looks like this for everyone.

Hi there,
This is because you have a custom date format set in the site settings.
Go to https://wordpress.com/settings/writing/joyoustobe.wordpress.com and expand the date format section. You currently have the date format configured at this:
The problem is that one cannot just enter whatever you want in that custom field. You can customize the date appearance, but you need to use valid symbols representing the date in PHP code, which is what WordPress is written in. If you enter your own content, what you enter will appear exactly, instead of the date.
You can see which symbols to use to create your own custom date format here:
https://wordpress.org/support/article/formatting-date-and-time/
Let us know if you need any help with getting the format you want.

Hi! It worked. Although it’s weird, because I changed it to custom also because nothing else worked and I tried them all. But now I changed it from the app on my phone and it worked! So yay!
Thank you! -
