Date info in URL, Permalinks, Hosted

  Can I remove the date information in an article link when using wordpress in hosting mode? For example, I want to remove the /2016/07 from the URL below. I see it can be done using permalinks in dashboard options, but I can’t seem to access those. Is it because I need to host my site or be a premium member?

  Unfortunately you can change this kind of setting at WordPress.com. You can do this in a WordPress.org self-hosted site.

  Bummer, anybody know of hosted blog site that doesn’t require this?

  If you choose a self-hosted WordPress.org site you can customize this.
