Date published and date edited option

    Hi! I’m using the wordpress.com 2017 theme, free version. I cannot figure out for the life of me how to add a code snippet to make it so that blog posts are seen as post name, date published, and date edited. Can someone help me?
    I really need the date edited option.

    Hi there,

    Themes on WordPress.com cannot be edited in this way, unless you are on the Business Plan which will allow you to upload a child theme with the changes you wish to make.

    Aside from using a child theme, the only way a theme on WordPress.com can be edited is by adding custom CSS, and that can only control the appearance of elements already on the page, not add new elements.

    There is no theme on WordPress.com that displays a date edited on published posts or pages.
