Date shows 2008 instead of June 4, 2017

The date on my blog post can’t be changed without ‘losing links to the post.’ Can this be fixed?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello @kbclanton
You can change the post date by following these steps:
1. Go to your posts page: https://wordpress.com/post/
2. Click Edit. This will open up the post editor.
3. On the top right corner click on that calender icon and change the date to your desired one.
4. Click UPDATE.NOTE: changing the date will also change the link to your post due to which the old link will show a “not found” message. The structure of the post URL cannot be changed on WordPress.COM so I guess there’s no workaround for that. But I am tagging this thread for staff attention. See what they have to say about this.
Thanks! 🙂

Hi there,
It appears that, instead of creating a new post on your site, you merely edited the default post that was added when you created this site 9 years ago. That post is showing 2008 in the date, because that is when the post was published.
Editing an existing post doesn’t change the publication date. You can manually edit the date, but that will change the permalink, yes. That is how post permalinks work, and not something that needs to bi fixed.
If you want to write a new post, you need to go to My Site ->Blog Posts ->Add and create a brand new post there. That post will show the date on which you create and publish it.
