Day and Date on Posts

    Hi all –

    I don’t often blog here (I’m always so busy online :-) )

    I got great help in the past getting my text to be larger (and thus more readable). I just added a new post and noticed something.

    I really like my current theme, and it didn’t seem to be a problem on the other posts, but on the latest one, the Date and Day of the Week seemed to almost take over the post title – or at least the beginning of it. Not a really big deal, but in this case, things could look – better.

    I don’t know if anything can be done about that (it may just be the way the theme is) , but if so, I’d love to know.

    If not, I wonder if anyone could recommend a different free theme that might work a bit better?

    Hi

    I took a look at your website and your previous post that talked about increasing the overall font size.

    With this theme, when you change one font size, you change them all. So without upgrading to the premium or business account, there’s not a way to customize the font sizes to make the date smaller than the headline.

    You can play around with adjusting the font size and font type and see if you are able to get something you like. You can go to https://wordpress.com/customize/d2power.wordpress.com and click on fonts.

    If you do want to change your theme, here’s a few free ones that are similar to the one you are using now (image at the top with posts on the first page).

    Thanks much for the reply. Sorry to say I just can’t justify paying for premium. And it looks as though only the longest-named day of the week is giving a problem here :-)

    When I can, I will try adjusting the font/size. I do have to say, it’s just a bit disappointing as per the other gal’s help, I’d gotten the post text and font into good settings. I might even look at some other themes…

    Ah well. ‘Tis blogging, I guess.

    Hi again, melindahelt –

    If I get something in my brain… so I played first with fonts and sizes… didn’t work.

    After looking at so many of the free themes, I could finally get ‘plane’ in a decent shape!

    Can I make some comments about the themes? I know you shouldn’t carp too much about something that’s “free” but on a couple of the themes, if I made the heading font smaller, it made the blog title TOO small! And many of the themes seem to be oriented toward pictures or graphics… hard to tell how a blog that’s mainly text would do. Probably not so well. Maybe you could pass on that it might be nice to have some new free themes developed – that would serve text better (and not shortchange the title if headings size changes!) – and maybe not with a black background (maybe that could be customized, but one never knows for sure until one applies the theme, right)???

    Well, that’s my two cents, and yes, you were helpful…
