DDNS, Domain Mapping and WordPress
-
This should be a fairly easy question – and i understand the alternate solutions and hosting companies but want to do some additional development on the platform and would like to host in internally. so here is the setup.
— My DNS is hosted through GoDaddy
— I have a DDNS solution through my firewall provider
— I have more computing horsepower than many small cities – been doing this for a while :)
— created a sub domain for wwwWhen i go into GoDaddy and manage the DNS and select forward only wordpress works like expected – permalinks, ability to login without going to a new page, flows, everything is great except i get the DDNS URL and not the URL the user put in…
User: http://www.innovationcorner.org
site response: http://aegir-wkcqhwntrc.dynamic-m.com:8083/when i update the sub-domain to do forward with masking the site comes up however:
— there permilinks no longer work and when i go to the login page i am directed to open another browser window and am back to http://aegir-wkcqhwntrc.dynamic-m.com:8083/.
I tried to put it behind a NGINX reverse-proxy but had different problems.
This is a low traffic development site. i am sure i am missing something, any help will be greatly appreciated.
