Your best option is to set your blog to private and then wait for it to drop from search results. If it comes up in a search people will simply get an error message if they try to open it: http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/
Deleting the blog cannot be undone and cached copies of the page may still exist on search engines for several weeks (which is why it’s better to set it to private as I explained above). To delete your blog you must be logged in under the exact same username with which you created it. To prevent accidental deletion there will be multiple warnings that it cannot be reversed and you will have to click on a link in a confirmation email before your site will be deleted. http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/You cannot delete your wordpress.com username account. This is for security reasons so others cannot claim your username and impersonate you. But you can remove all personal information you added and effectively deactivate your account so no one will be able to access it. See timethief’s instructions in this thread on how to do that: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/delete-account-276?replies=2

Hi aimeeloufashion,
What do you specifically mean when you say “de-activate it without deleting it all”?
Do you mean you would like to:
Delete your account
http://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/Delete Site
http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/Empty your site
http://support.wordpress.com/empty-site/Delete old posts

Set your blog to private and give it a couple of months to get out of Google’s cache. Then you can delete the blog if you still want without fear of cached pages still popping up in searches and take the other steps to de-activate your account. In the meantime you can go ahead and remove any personal info you added to your profile following timethief’s instructions.
Another idea: Before you set your blog to private, verify your site with Google Webmaster tools: http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/
Then set your site to private and submit a removal request to Google via Webmaster Tools: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/removals That might get your site out of their cache a bit faster.

Thank you for your responses, I have just imported my blog from WordPress to Blogger, do you know if I delete my blog from wordpress will it delete it from blogger too? I just dont want to loose it all.
Thank you.

@aimeeloufashion
Once it has imported to Blogger it should be safe to delete it here. Just make very sure that all your media files are in your media library at Blogger. When transferring content the media files don’t transfer all at once and some of the images might still be linked to your WordPress media library. At the very least, make sure you have a backup copy of all your media files before you delete, but I’d suggest to leave your WordPress site set to private for a couple of weeks to make sure everything made it across before you delete it.

Thank you so much for your reply, I have made it to private, but it still seems to be showing up as well as my blogger one when I put it in google and I dont want the wordpress one to show anymore. Will it take a few weeks for this to not come up anymore?
Sorry for all the questions just not sure what to do.
Thank you.

Not at all. It’s my pleasure to help.
The WordPress one will still appear in search results for a while – as I explained earlier it can take a couple of months before Google removes it from their cache – but if it’s set to private only you will be able to see it.
I checked, and when I click on your blog’s link I only get a message that it’s private. Anyone but you will only see that if they click on a search result in Google. If you simply delete your site they’ll be able to access a cached page, so keep it on private until it drops from search results.

Ok, great. Thank you.
I will just wait then, as I wanted to start blogging again on my blogger one however didnt want to make it confusing for my followers as there are currently obviously two blogs showing up on the search engine.
Thank you for all your help.

Actually to start creating new content on Blogger will speed up the process, as it will push your Blogger site up in search rankings while pushing your WordPress site down.
You might also want to look at the site redirect upgrade here. With that upgrade if anyone clicks on your WordPress address they’ll automatically be sent to the Blogger one. See here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/site-redirect/
