De-activated and deleted widgets won't disappear

  On my new blog, I first de-activated the sidebar widgets and then deleted them. Still they keep appearing in a sidebar. I don’t want a sidebar on any of these pages. This is the first blog in which I’ve tried using multiple pages for the first time; don’t know if that’s relevant.

  How can I eliminate these sidebar widgets? Will the sidebar stop displaying after its widgets are gone, or will I need to delete the sidebar too somehow?

  Though the widgets are gone, the blank side bar remains which I suspect is due to the design of the theme.

  If yo want no sidebar, you must select a theme with bottom widgets only or a theme in which the sidebar is optional. See here:
