Deactivated email prevents password resetting

My login email account does not exist and I can’t login anymore.
Even if I use teh old email with the old password I get a message telling me the password is wrong and I cannot reset it because I do not hold that email anymore.
I want to move to a paid account and I can’t access my profile, settings or anything.
My site is Natural Machines http://anabelapinto.wordpress.com/

I have held that site for many years and when I registered I wasn’t given any proves of ownership or codes as you now request.

If you cannot produce access to the same email inbox, and don’t have proof of ownership information, I am afraid not much can be done here.

I am also tagging this post with “modlook” for WordPress.com staff’s attention, but I doubt they will be able to help either without you producing proof of ownership information.

My problem is similar. I have a “free site”, actually two. I received some email from wordpress that my password had been compromised. Unfortunately, I just figured I would log in and change it. I’m unable to log in. I’ve tried putting my email in for a new password. It has my email, and says it sent me a password, but I never get the password. I don’t have any other proof of ownership, so I can’t seem to make any contact. I don’t have any other access to this site. “funkstuf.wordpress.com” I’m not able to log in as an administrator on wordpress and have no idea how to make this happen, but would really like to log in and add some blogs.
    Thanks.

funkdtuf, please refrain from posting on others’ threads. You can post a fresh thread here: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/?new=1

@apintopoulton can you remember your password?

Or can you set up access to the old email address again? We would need some kind of proof of ownership before granting you access to the site.

@funkdtuf I’ll watch for your thread. Your issue is very similar so it will be treated the same way, but since you’ll each need individual staff attention, a separate thread would be ideal.

I can’t access the old email address as it was deleted by the service provider.

The issue is that I attempted to login with the old email address and respective password and I got a message telling me it didn’t recognise the password.

Besides I set up my WordPress account in 2011 and in those days they didn’t send any proof of ownership as is presently requested.

My proof is my picture. I can send you the picture that I placed on my WordPress site and tell you in private what the email and password were.

@apintopoulton Your proof is your activation key.

Sending the old password would not help. And anyone could take a picture off the website, so that really wouldn’t count as proof of anything.

Have you thought about setting up a new site? Or, can you ask the old email provider about setting up your address there again?

    Sorry
I cannot retrieve my old email since the service provider does not exist anymore. I should be able to login with my old email and password, but WordPress is not recognising the password that I have set up with that email.
I think that WordPress should have a system to deal with these situations. Even if I create a new site I still have my old site up and I can’t delete it or manage it.

Actually I would like not to have to discuss this issue with you on a public forum. Please give me a contact of someone I can correspond to in private so I can solve this issue. .

Support Staff cannot breach the privacy policy and provide the log-in information. You have to provide proof ownership to Account Recovery Staff to gain access https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/
If you cannot provide proof ownership to Account Recovery Staff, so they can contact you by email ie. not on these public support forums, which are available to everyone with internet access, then you have reached a dead end.

Look.. we are going in circles.

    Please read my email carefully

I CANNOT PROVIDE PROOF OF OWNERSHIP AS YOU REQUEST IT BECAUSE IT WAS NEVER GIVEN TO ME…When I register in 2012 WordPress DID NOT HAVE THOSE PROOF….

As I said I attempted to login with my usual login email and password and for some unknow reason WordPress is NOT ACCEPTING teh password that goes with the registered email. IT is a problem on WORDPRESS Platform not mine.

Have you tried using a comment box on a post the site and seeing which email address receives the comment?
    https://anabelapinto.wordpress.com/2016/12/23/counselling-supermarket-1/

Every WordPress.COM blog has a sole owner. It is the person with the WordPress.COM username account who registered the blog under that username account and a single associated email address, and who is the original Admin of the blogs registered under that username account.
You have to be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard. The Admin login link to the dashboard for every blog hosted by wordpress.COM is:
    http://NAME_OF_BLOG.wordpress.com/wp-admin/
    * You will have to replace “name_of_blog” with the actual blog’s name in that URL.

After the blog’s owner logs in clicking this link should display all blogs registered under the same username account, including the hidden ones: https://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs&show=hidden

If the blog’s owner does not see the blog here http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/ then they need to follow this guide > http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/#my-blogs-dashboard-visibility

If the log-in information is lost they need to visit https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword

If you are not logged in under the correct WordPress.COM username account then clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies prior to logging into another account

You can update your email address here https://wordpress.com/me at any time.

If you do not have the required access you need to contact the person who registered the account and site under it and have them transfer the sites to your username account by using this process. https://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-wordpress-com-user-or-account

If you check each and every possible email address and account and are not successful gaining access to the blog(s) then you must complete the form for account recovery at this link https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery and submit it to the Account Recovery Staff, and provide proof ownership, so they can contact you by email ie. not on these public support forums, which are available to everyone with internet access.

Support Staff cannot breach the privacy policy and provide the log-in information. You have to provide proof ownership to Account Recovery Staff to gain access https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/
If you cannot provide proof ownership to Account Recovery Staff, so they can contact you by email ie. not on these public support forums, which are available to everyone with internet access, then I’m sorry but you have reached a dead end.

    Hi –

I’ve sent a note to the email address that is connected to anabelapinto.wordpress.com. That is the email address that you’ll need to sign in with in order to access the site. You can also reply back to me directly in that email and I’ll be able to provide further assistance. This is all that I can offer with no proof of ownership.
