Deactivating a theme

Purely by mistake I just activated the Libretto theme on my website. I do not like it and now I’m feeling really bad about losing the appearance my site had before this mishap.
Please, someone, anyone… I need to deactivate this theme and have my beautiful website back.
    I honestly feel like crying.
Not that Libretto is so bad, I miss my website!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hey there,

You can simply change the theme by following the below steps:

    1) Go to my site
    2) In the ‘Personalize’ section, click on ‘Themes’.
    3) Click on the three dots next to the theme you want and then select ‘Activate’

    Hope this helps!

    Hey.

    That doesn’t work.

You see, I hadn’t activated any theme for my site yet until I accidentally chose Libretto.
I don’t want to change to a different theme.
I only want my site back, without the theme.

    Hope you understand.

When you create a WordPress.com site you are given a theme to begin with. There has to be some sort of framework to use to add your own content to. Sometimes it is Independent Publisher 2. Sometimes it is another theme. You can’t have a site without a theme at WordPress.com.

    Hey!

Wow! I didn’t really know. But I think I get that. Gracias.
Now my question would be, “How do I do away with this current theme that I’ve accidentally adopted, and restore the ‘theme I must have been given to begin with’?”
Also, please, which is Independent Publisher 2?

If you didn’t make a note of the theme you started out with it will be one of the 93 free themes found here: https://wordpress.com/themes/free Have a look through those. If you still can’t find the theme you started with then staff will be able to tell you. To alert a member of staff to assist you add the word modlook to the tag box here on the far right.
