Deactivation and how long it takes to get reactivated?

Yesterday we received this message that it seems like many of you have received before:
“This blog has been deactivated because we believe it does not comply with the WordPress.com Terms of Service or advertising policy.

If your blog is designed to promote affiliate links, get rich quick programs, banner ads, consists solely or mostly of duplicate or automatically generated material, or is part of a search engine marketing campaign, WordPress.com is not the place for you. Please use the Export feature to move your content to a more appropriate hosting service.

Occasionally we make mistakes. If you believe we have misclassified your blog, please click here to contact us as soon as possible so we can fix the problem.”

We did as we were told and sent messages so that the problem could be fixed as soon as possible. Like many of you, we are curious as to why our site was deactivated, we don’t have that many “looks” at our site a day and we are certainly not making any money off this site. We are just trying to keep friends, family, and anyone else who shares in our passion of mud racing informed about what is going on and how we are staying active. Why we were deactivated is still a mystery to us and we don’t believe we in any way violated the terms of service or the advertising policy.

I have sent a few messages to follow up and we still have not heard a response. Like many, we have a few dedicated followers and when they reach our site they now see a message that says we have violated the terms of service. That doesn’t really look good for us especially where we did nothing wrong. Does anyone know how long it will be before we hear anything to resolve this issue?

You need to deal with the TOS Staff and you have contacted them so they should be getting back to you. Double check any spam filters as their email’s seem to get stuck there at times. I don’t know their response time but because of the time zones around the world it could be 18 to 24 hours, which with a suspended blog is not fun.

I have links to the terms of service below if you want to review them. And yes I have seen blogs that were flagged for TOS and they did come back so keep the faith.

PS – the reasons for suspensions are never discussed in the Forum.

Thank you for your response! I will go ahead and check out those links again to make sure it wasn’t a mistake on our part on something we posted, if it was I would be more than happy to correct it if I knew what it was. I will check our spam filters as well, although I am not sure I can do much with a deactivated account

Hopefully we hear back soon from them and we can get our blog back up and running in no time.
