Dead Feeds – Anyone Know what to Do?

  • Unknown's avatar

I am attempting to make some feeds for some MP3’s on my blog. Ive turned my blog into more of a website. It has only one page that I am always adding content to. The content is documents and MP3 files. Anyone know why I cant get feeds to work for the MP3 file?

I tried to make one and it said “An error has occurred; the feed is probably down. Try again later.” on my blog once I uploaded it.

    Any ideas?

P.S. Everything I know about feeds I’ve learned in the last hour (in other words, its not much) :)

Can we get a link to the blog, plus links to the MP3 files, plus the URL you’re using for their feeds?

MP3 files, as far as I am aware, do not have feeds, since they don’t update. They’re jsut files.

Leaving out the question of feeds entirely, what is the end result you’re going for here? Do you want music on your blog? Do you want people to download the files? What specifically are you trying to accomplish?

Well, I was basically experimenting. I want to make a podcast out of the MP3 files on my blog. The link is

    http://daltonlifsey.com/resources/

The MP3 files are on there littered throughout the page. I havent a clue how to make the podcast. I just saw on Itunes store that to get from my site to a podcast a needed a feed. So I attempted to make a feed for my individual MP3 file. So what you’re saying is quite helpful! About there being no feeds for files like that.

Any suggestions about how to move forward with the podcast?

    Thank you SO MUCH!
