once I decide on a plan – any way to get rid of ALL nag and upsell buttons / paths / pop-ups. essentially make my admin only what is actually working on the plan level. if not this is a failure of ui design. forcing constant view of upgrades is taxing and time wasting

I understand that such prompts could be annoying, but they ultimately bring more features and possibilities to all WordPress.com users 😊
As for not seeing them after the upgrade — I can’t guarantee that you won’t see any banners suggesting some WordPress.com upgrades/services, such as:
