Dealing with comments marked as SPAM.
-
I have someone who keeps commenting on my blog post even though I’ve always marked her comments as spam. I would have thought that she’d have been blocked by now. I have blocked her on my phone, email, Facebook, etc. and it’s annoying that this keeps happening. Any solutions?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, do you have comment moderation enabled on your above site? If not, that is really the best way to handle such visitors and will allow you to delete their comments before they appear. See here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/unwanted-comments/
If you don’t want the burden of approving each and every comment from known and “trusted” visitors, then use the setting that before a comment appears “Comment author must have a previously approved comment”. See here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/#before-a-comment-appears
Let us know if you need more help with that.

It’s important not to mark comments you do not like as spam. We mark only spam as spam and we delete all troll comments. http://dailypost.wordpress.com/2013/03/27/how-to-starve-a-troll/

Thanks for that link, tt. I’m not on my computer with my notes. Have a happy and healthy New Year!

Thanks for the tips. Yes, I do see the comments before they are posted, so at least I’m the only one who sees this trash. Today’s comment had nothing to do with the post at all. I will check out “how to starve a troll” and see if that ends this.
I don’t get that many comments, so it’s not a problem to moderate them. If it does become an issue, it’s good to know there’s another option.
I appreciate your help. All the best for 2016. -

I assume that you are the same person as christinepeets but have logged in under another username account. Is that the case? -
Yes, time thief, it’s me, Christine. I’d forgotten I’d last logged in with the business blog. Thanks for checking. I logged in under my Captions Communications account.
I have a personal blog, With Humour and Hope: The Only Way to Live, which I write under my own name and a business blog called Local Business Matters. (localbusinessmatters.wordpress.com). It’s the personal blog getting the trashy comments.I started to read the “starve a troll” article, and have bookmarked it for later. I really appreciate you posting that link. What I have is definitely a troll lurking around my blog.
I’m glad to have found this forum. Thanks for your help.
Happy New Year
