I am the co-founder of mssc organization. The person who created the account/website on word press has the user name and password. We now have a new website and this website still appears in the search. As you can see it has not been updated or changed in any way.

I see what you mean, as the last front-page update is from ten years ago!
It seems that account recovery (https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/) isn’t an option, therefore also crossing out the account closure process (https://wordpress.com/support/close-account/).
