Dear WP Engineers – Please cancel my domain registration & hosting within 48hrs

Hi,
I posted this in the “Questions” forum, but not sure if it’s the right place to post the issue. I would like to cancel my domain registration and hosting with WP and get a full refund. I emailed wordpress support yesterday afternoon, but haven’t heard anything from them. I purchased it on the the night of January 24, 2011 and would like this to be canceled before the 48 hours are up (which is tonight). I was charged for domain mapping, domain registration and private registration ($25 in all). Domain is webchirps.com.Thanks!

hey Hanni,
I have a similar request. But I want to be able to register the domain again with another hosting company. I thought that it would be simpler to cancel the domain and then re-register it with my hosting co. in South Africa. I really just want to move the domain. But I am finding it difficult to do.

Posting in a “Resolved” thread can be confusing to get help.
If you cancel a Domain Registration it can take a while for the name be be released back into the wild where you can try and register it again. You can just change where the name-servers are pointed and point them to your new host and then you don’t need to cancel a Domain – you can’t transfer a domain for 60 days after it has been registered – that is an internet fraud prevention regulation.
