Deceased user – how to cancel account / site

  Hi –

  My uncle passed away nearly a year ago. His site was https://sirmons.wordpress.com/
  You can see his obit at http://tomsirmons.com. (I manage this domain for him elsewhere and it’ll expire in April 2016.)

  I have read the “Deceased User” notice here:
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/deceased-user/
  But unfortunately it doesn’t help. It won’t let me submit anything unless we have a transaction ID or activation URL or whatever to “prove” who we are, which of course we can’t do. Those items were undoubtedly stored in his AOL account which is also lost, which he accessed via web. We have his old laptop but it’s got nothing on it.

  We need to make sure things are canceled, especially any paid account.

  Sorry for your loss

  I have flagged this for the staff to help – they should have some way to help since not all accounts will have a transaction ID or whatever and even for me to find some of the early documentation when I opened my account several computers ago would be an issue
