Deciding on a provider and plan?
-
Ahh Kay, so I’ve secured domains (3) I want them all to reflect the web page I intend to build using Word Press. The web page is for doing a QR code test so it need not have much in it at all except for my motion graphic .gif with attendant sound file. A bit of copy and an email address. The steps to linking those domains to the necessary WordPress domain, described in Use a Domain You Already Own (Domain Connection) seem ambiguous or convoluted leaving me bewildered as to where to start? I have the pieces of video.gif and sound files, text and .jpgs ready to go, but no clear indication of what I an supposed to do first for my basic ($5.) per month? Kindly advise.
Thank you,
Steve

Hi Steve, it looks like you don’t have a site with us yet, so first let’s clarify whether you’re using our managed hosting services, or whether you are managing your own installation of WordPress with another host.
This page explains the difference:
https://get.wp.comWhether you host here or elsewhere, the domain connection process will likely look something like this:
– Buy hosting
– Add your name(s) to that hosting
– Update the domain’s settings to point to that host
If you use any of our paid plans, you can connect all three domains to a single site, and choose one as your primary address. We’re happy to help you through if you’re running into any trouble with that.
Also, note you also have an option for a domain transfer. That process is a little trickier, and it can’t be done yet if you just purchased your three domains. But we’re happy to help you through it if you’d like.
Does this help? And do you have more questions?
