Deciphering what people who see my posts want to see more of.
-
Hi, I want to be able to spot a trend in what the people who see my posts are looking for. Do I use Views or Likes or something else to see which posts interests them? I have hundreds of Followers, I read that Likes are not recorded when they read it in their Reader. If Likes is the best way to track this trend how to do see the total views for the history of the post? Any other suggestions to do what I am trying to do?

Hi @2healthyhabits, you’re welcome to experiment as you like: if the most-liked articles share a similar topic, you could write more about that. You might also check out your top tags and categories, which you can find here:

Hello Lydia,
So long as the post has the tags and the categories, they should be found under those posts would be found under those tag and category pages.
I hope this helps.

Am I am to understand that the counts per tags and categories is an on going accumulation.

Yes, as more people visit posts that use those topics, those numbers will increase.
You can also view your stats by days, weeks, months, and years by changing the view at the top of your stats page here: (screenshot) https://d.pr/i/KmnmD7
I hope that clarifies things!

I am curious. You said, “as more people visit posts that use those topics, those numbers will increase.” When I looked at the screen from yesterday and then refreshed and looked at today, the total decreased. Why is that?

If you were logged into WordPress.com when visiting the site, these views would not be counted.
I hope this helps.
