Decrease margins on all pages
-
Hi
I am an absolute beginner and have no clue about CSS. I am using the twenty fourteen theme and I would like to decrease the margins in the post section. At the moment the area is very narrow with plenty of white space on both sides.Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi there, this can be a bit tricky when you don’t have any full posts to work with (possibly with featured images) since a number of things can need to be adjusted. You can give the following CSS a try and adjust the 474px max width value. Once you add more in the way of content, other adjustments may need to be made.
.site-content .entry-header, .site-content .entry-content, .site-content .entry-summary, .site-content .entry-meta, .page-content { max-width: 474px; }Just to note, with text, it is best to keep things under 750px in width as a general rule as wide blocks of text become more difficult for people to read.
