Default Blog Domain

  I want to create my first blog. I don’t want to buy a domain name. Is the default blog domain name username as in http://username.wordpress.com?

  Yes, it is. You can change the name you display under “nickname” and you can change the blog’s displayed name in the title by changing it on the Options page, but the URL will always be username.wordpress.com. If you don’t want to use a blog called that, perhaps you should register one and make it private and don’t use it. Then you can name subsequent blogs anything you want and still use that username.

  Or you can just register another username and start over.
