Default e-mail setting for new followers

    I noticed that I wasn’t getting e-mails from some people I was following. Later, I learned that my settings for that particular person was e-mail off. However, a lot of my followers have the setting on, and I thought that was the default.

    Did I do anything wrong and inadvertently set something that disables e-mail for new people I follow?

    You can check your default email notification settings here:

    https://wordpress.com/me/notifications/subscriptions/

    If it’s set to have email subscription by default, just clicking the follow button on a site should sign you up for email notifications. However, you can also control this on a site-by-site basis via the Manage button on the Reader.
