Default featured image

    How do I set a default featured image for my site that will appear when sharing my homepage?

    The site I need help with is stardustwriting.wordpress.com.

    Hi there,

    Featured images can only be set for static pages. Your site’s homepage is set to display your latest posts, and that’s a dynamic page, i.e. it’s not a page that exists on the site under Pages, but it’s generated automatically by the software. So it’s not possible to give it a featured image.

    Dynamic pages on a site (other dynamic pages include category, tag, author and search result pages) use your site icon as the thumbnail when sharing that specific page. You can see your current site icon and change it in the Customizer at Appearance ->Customize ->Site Identity.
