Default first image in auto-posts as 'featured image' when posting to WP.com
-
I often auto post from Flickr uploads via IFTTT to WordPress. This works fine but my theme mixfolio requires a ‘feature image’ to display as a thumbnail on the Home Page. Is there a way of automating the first image in a post to be used as the ‘feature image’? I can see this is done in wordpress.org using a plugin, but wondered if it can be done in wordpress.com

Hi,
Have you read this guide? http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2013/03/03/guide-to-mixfolio/There is no FTP access and no plugin capability on free hosted WordPress.com blogs.

There is no upgrade you can purchase here that changes that. See here for a full comparison WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org -
Thanks. I will have a read.
In the mean time – I have set up flickr in the menu which is a link to my Flickr photostream, but I’m sure that there was an option within mixfolio to display the flickr stream as a mosaic within the page. But I seem to have lost that option.
Now on with the reading…
