Default Font for editing in the TinyMCE Editor

  • Unknown's avatar

The default font in my text editor all of a sudden is a bold font and is not preferable to edit with. How can I change this? By the way, my associated blogs all render properly. Please advise. I am using Firefox.

    Thanks,
    Robert

    Hi there,

I took a look at your site and when I went in to the text editor, text on the new post was displaying normally. I did notice that it was a bit larger than for many blogs, but that is a function of your theme’s default settings. I also verified via the Text Editor that there was no Bold tag being entered in to the text by default.

Just in case, I wanted to make sure you’re aware that if you are starting your compositions in another medium (such as Word or the like) and are copy/pasting in to the editor, then tags can be transferred over and might translate as bold tags. So if you do start out in that way, you might want to try pasting in to a plain text editor such as notepad first to clear any embedded formatting, copying out again, and then pasting in to the visual editor.

Thanks for the reply. The link below conveys my issue. The image on the left is the actual Blog rendering which looks perfect. The image on the right is the editor. Everything is bold in the editor. Thoughts…

The link did not display in the previous post. Here it is again.

    Heya,

Thanks for providing that screenshot. I’ve conferred with my peers, and there has been a trend going on wherein customers with Custom Fonts set are seeing the custom font in their editor, but it is showing as the bold version rather than the normal face.

This seems to only be happening in FireFox on Windows thus far. Is that the case in your experience? You mentioned you’re using FF, have you tried it in any other browser yet?

Looks OK in a Chrome/Windows approach. As you say, must be a Firefox issue. Thanks!

We’re still looking in to the issue and we’ll let you know as soon as we resolve it with Firefox, but in the mean time I’m glad you can use Chrome as a stop-gap solution!
