Default font size in editor suddenly too small to read

Hello, the default font size in the WordPress editor is suddenly smaller. I noticed this in January and thought it was a temporary change but it is still happening 100% of the time when I start new posts in the editor. The default size used to be around 10-11pt font but the default size is now about 7pt. It is very difficult to read; I have tried to adapt by highlighting the text and selecting ‘small’ font size in the typography area of the sidebar (which changes the font so that it’s the size of the previous default font) but changing the default size throws off the formatting of the rest of the post, so I’m constantly redoing the format of every paragraph and block as I write just so the font is large enough to read. I am not sure what happened or why the default font is so tiny; I have increased the zoom on my browser, updated my computer, etc. but the issue happens all the time now when I enter WordPress. Is there something I can do to change the default font size in the editor?

Based on your description, I would guess the default Font size for your Theme may have been adjusted. You can change this with the Global Style setting when you edit a post (Aa) button, top-right.
Alternatively, you could try adjusting the Typography settings.

Hello @practicalchristian12 Is this font change only within the Editor itself? When published or previewed, is the body font displayed at the “correct” size?
