Default gallery not working, can't manage images

  So, since two days I am not able to access the images of my galleries. The back-end of the page is showing only the first 5 or 6 images as square thumbnails. It will let me upload new images (from the computer but not from the library) but then still not showing them on the page once saving the gallery and updating the page. My website is not hosted by wordpress, it just runs it.
  help!
