  How do I make a Welcome post the Home page default each time the blog is accessed?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  If you want a static front page, here is how:

  There are some implications to doing a static front “welcome” page. Regular readers will be seeing the same thing every time they visit your site (unless they are followers or subscribers) so will be forced to click through to your latest post. SEO is lower for static pages, so google et al will be less likely to rank your site higher. You can look though the tags on these forums to find discussions about this.

  I’d personally make a short sticky post for a “welcome” or use a text widget in a sidebar with a “welcome” message.
