Default "Links" widget on new themes
-
I’m running a demo blog that uses each new theme’s default settings and I’ve noticed more than once that many new themes have a Links widget where all the “demo” links are intended for ORG blogs. Such as (w/o the http:// part for obvious reasons):
Documentation: codex.wordpress.org/
Plugins: wordpress.org/extend/plugins/
Suggest Ideas: wordpress.org/extend/ideas/
Support Forum: wordpress.org/support/
Themes: wordpress.org/extend/themes/
WordPress Blog: wordpress.org/news/
WordPress Planet: planet.wordpress.org/If someone is new to WordPress.com and really doesn’t know the difference between it and Org, this would be totally confusing.
Please reconfigure the default Links widget for Com blogs to point to links relevant for us. Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I agree with you 100%. Those wordpress.org links are confusing and new members post to the forum asking how to get rid of them. Worse still some click in thinking they can use wordpress.org themes and/or plugins on wordpress.com blogs.
Please Staff reconfigure the default Links widget for wordpress.COM blogs to include only links relevant to wordpress.COM bloggers.
Thanks!
