Default Media Settings
-
I have been following the recent threads about uploading pictures, and thought that I was now au fait. But…..can you tell me, please; I have now been into Settings-Media-and clicked on ‘File’. The posts already on site do not seem to respond to my clicking onto picture to enlarge. Does this mean that only future posts will be OK? Or have I, not unusually, got it wrong, please.

As I understand the media settings, that will only apply to future posts. It does not work retroactively.

Of course: the default you set now affect the behaviour of the uploader, it cannot affect the code of your past posts.
If you want to correct them you can go to the html post editor and change the codes. The non-clickable images are like that:
<img src="http://yourblog.wordpress.com/files/2008/08/name.jpg?w=230" alt=""
etc.Copy the URL (from “http” up to “jpg”), make it a link, i.e.:
<a href="URL">
and paste this just before the rest of the code. -

Better advice on correcting previous images here (sorry, I’m very used to working in html):

Only note that “then click file then save changes” should be “click Link to Image, click Update”.
