Default Plug-in suggestion – Hide Posts from main page

I have a series of posts I’d rather appear in their own category rather then on the main page, as they’ll be formatted a bit differently. Currently, the “Cocktail” category.
From my googling around this cannot be done on the current WordPress.com settings, but a plug-in exists to make this happen…

It’s pretty straightforward check boxes to select where the post is to be hidden, so that it would appear in it’s proper category page and not the front page.

As a wordpress.com user, I really need this plug-in (WP Hide Post) built in as default too…
