default to private

  I have set my site to private, so why do I still have to set each post to private. How can I make my posts default to private.

  They are two separate settings.

  Setting the Blog as private and just blogging normally means that only approved Users can see the posts.

  Setting the Post as private means only you and other admins can see the post.

  If you don’t have any other Users, you don’t need to set the posts as Private. I have just confirmed I can’t see http://honeybushtea.wordpress.com/ or any of the posts on it.

  I’m so nervous about people reading my private journal that I have it set to private plus I make each post private. So, is there no way to have the default post private instead of public?

  The way to default everything to private is to set the whole blog as Private via Settings -> Privacy.

  Posts will still be considered “Public,” but it’s the blog itself that is walled off, so no one will be able to see them anyway.
