Defective passwords
-
The reason I first joined WordPress was to complain that something that took a fair while to write could not be posted. Today I had the same experience. There is a posting written about Alax Salmond complaining about Nick Robinson’s coverage of Scotland’s referendum on BBC. I wrote a comment but the password hurdle after I had written it did not work. I typed the password, I copied and pasted the password but every time it came back with press back and correct password until I gave up.

What is the URL of the post you refer to?
Is it on a site hosted by WordPress.COM?
OR is it on a site that’s a WordPress.ORG install? If you are referring to commenting on a post on a wordpress.ORG software install, that means you are posting to the wrong support forum.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins (passwords), features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.

WordPress.org support docs are at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page -

Is the link. I’m sure you’ll maybe now tell me it’s somebody else’s fault.

That site is not hosted by WordPress.COM so your login info and password has zero relevance when attempting to submit a comment to it. Moreover, there appears not to be any comments set up on the site and whether or not to allow them and what information to require to post comments is the blogger’s prerogative.
scotland-us.com is hosted by GoDaddy.com
