I am finding this page on google:
    https://ppstaking.com/author/ppstaking/
I didn;t knowingly create it and I don’t see it in my pages? How can I hide/delete it?
    Thanks

    Hi,

There are posts published in 2009 and 2010 that correspond to some of the static pages on the site. Various archives pages are automatically generated or updated whenever a post is published. Such archives pages include author and date (year, month, day) archives pages, and, if applicable, category pages.

Since the contents of the three posts in that author archives page seem to be duplicated in static pages with the same titles, the issue may be easily resolved by changing the status of each of those posts to draft or, if they are unneeded, by deleting each of them.

Someone else might provide you with CSS code that will hide the author archives page, and/or other archives pages, but I don’t have that knowledge.

@ppstaking, my suggestion would be exactly what @musicdoc1 suggests. Review those posts on the author page and set any you do not want to show up back to draft.

Oh, forgot to mention, there is no way to hide the author page from the search engines as it is dynamically generated and the search engines know how to get it.

Ok thanks. They exist on the front page because of the template using blog posts. I have to make a new identical front page using the identical pages

It’s not necessary to display posts on the front page. You may instead display a static page, perhaps a welcome page, on the front page. See the Set a Static “Home” Page (Front Page) support page for information and instructions. Links to the pages may be included on the static front page, if desired.

If you prefer to display posts on the front page, as they presently are, another factor that you might consider is that it is unlikely that the average visitor will ever find the author archives page since

    • 1. you haven’t displayed the author name on those posts, and
    • 2. you haven’t provided a link to that archives page, or any archives pages, in the menu.
