  I would like to delete this account completely.

  Hi there,

  There are a few steps that you will need to complete. We don’t want to have people take your username and reputation, as this is your online identity with WordPress.com, so we retain this username and it doesn’t get recycled. Please refer to the following guide for deleting your account, purging your site of content and your personal account information: https://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/.

  In summary, the steps are as follows (with links going into details of each step):

  1. Empty and Delete your site (be careful, this process cannot be reversed!)

  2. Unsubscribe to any emails sent to you from WordPress.com

  3. Remove all data except the account name and an email address.

  You can simply create a throwaway email address and change the account email to that throwaway address. This will only leave the username behind:

  https://wordpress.com/me/account/
  https://wordpress.com/me/profile

  4. Make sure the account is secured.

  Visit this site below, generate a password of 15-20 characters, and change the account password to it:

  5. While you cannot completely delete your Gravatar profile, you can remove all of your profile information easily through the “Edit My Profile” page here:

  http://en.gravatar.com/profiles/edit/?noclose#about-you

  You can also hide your Gravatar profile from external access. Visit your profile page (click your name in the top navigation of the website), and then click the “Hide My Profile” link in the bottom, right-hand corner.

  Remember, this is your online identity and website. As such, these additional measures and steps are needed as outlined above to effectively delete your account and site and protect your identity and reputation.
