Hello @wecnewfoundland,
If you want to delete your site. You first would have to remove any upgrades that are associated with that site then you would have to empty your site of all its content.
Please read this article on how to delete your site.
Let me know if this helps!
Best,

Hi @wecnewfoundland,
To be able to delete your site, you would need staff assistance to remove the upgrades from your website. I am tagging the staff to help you with it. Be assured someone will get in touch with you soon.
You can then follow the instructions on the link provided by @billh93 and delete your site. You also have the option to empty the site and start over again as well.
Hope this helps, please do let us know if we can assist you any further.
Thanks!
@billh93: Apologies for jumping in the thread, it would just need staff assistance so did the needful! :)

Hi wecnewfoundland,
There is a premium theme (Headlines) active on wecnl.wordpress.com — this theme will need to be removed before the site can be deleted. Can you confirm you are happy for me to go ahead and remove it for you?
Thanks!
-
Yes, please. Go ahead and remove the premium theme. From there I’m sure I can delete the website myself. Appreciate the quick response!

Hi wecnewfoundland,
Thanks — I’ve removed the theme so you should be able to delete your site now.
Come back to me if you run into any problems.

Thank you – I just deleted it. Is there any way to prevent the site from appearing in internet searches? I just googled our organization (Western Environment Centre) and the old site still appeared in the search. When I clicked on it, the site didn’t exist and it told me it was deleted by the authors, but I’d still like to avoid people clicking on the old link.

Hi wecnewfoundland,
Is there any way to prevent the site from appearing in internet searches?
Search engines can take up to 4-6 weeks to reflect any changes to your site. However, the Remove Outdated Content tool staff-imahappyengineer linked to can help you request removal of your content from Google’s search results. Just be sure to add the URL copied from Google Search Results, not of the site itself.
Thanks for your help staff-imahappyengineer.
