Delete a comment

  Hello,

  I posted a comment in 2009 for a writing class and I would like it to be deleted. I have access to my account and I am able to log in, however, when I go to that comment i do not have the option of deleting it. I can only ‘reply’.

  You will have to contact the blogger in question and ask them to do this for you. Staff cannot do this. The the blog’s owner “owns” your comments you submitted to their posts and if they say “no” when you ask them to edit or delete your comment then you are hooped. That is what we caution bloggers to never say anything in any comments made online that they may regret they said in the future. Please see the relevant support doc:

  Can you please delete my comment for me?

  No that cannot be done by Staff. It can only be done by the blogger whose blog post you chose to submit a comment to. So all you can do is post again and ask for deletion.

  I tagged this thread with modlook in the sidebar for Staff. They have a backlog so you will have to be patient while waiting for a response.

  Apologies for the oversight. I didn’t realize this was a public forum, I was only trying to get help with the situation from 2009. I appreciate your fast responses and assistance. Unfortunately After sending my question to you I realized I was not supposed to include personal information, now I feel that my personal safety is going to be violated. Can you please delete my post?

  I am a Volunteer and cannot delete anything. I tagged this thread with modlook in the sidebar for Staff. They have a backlog so you will have to be patient while waiting for a response.

  I have removed the personal information from this forum thread. We do not delete threads due to the fact that they have value for future WordPress.com users with similar issues.
