delete a page from menu

  I need to delete a page from my menu. I have permanently deleted the page, but it still shows on the menu bar. The ‘edit menu’ feature only allows one to add pages, there’s no delete option.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,

  After looking into your menu, I did find an empty page in your Menu option. Please go to Appearance > Menus in your Dashboard. Click on the upside down triangle and you will see the link to “Remove” on the left side. Click that and remember to Save Menu!

  Thanks Grace,
  Unfortunately the empty Home page doesn’t come up under the Menu Structure so there’s no arrow to click on. It is listed in the View All list of pages on the left, but there’s no option to delete on that side. (The menu structure list only has three items in it — even though there are nine items on my menu.)

  Hi there,

  I found that you have not set a Custom Menu. What you should do is create your Menu Structure by going to Appearance > Menus in your Dashboard. Currently, you only have three pages set up in Menu 1. Please set your Menu to your desire. Once that this done, click on Manage Locations at the top left hand corner of the page. Select Menu 1 and click Save Changes. You should then view the your page as you set it in your Custom Menu.

  Hi Grace,

  That was great advice — I fixed the problem. Unfortunately one problem remains. I’d like the address of the site (sei2014.org) to take one to the Home page; right now you still have to have the suffix “/home” to reach the Home page (sei2014.org/home/). The proper address (http://sei2014.org) still takes one to a “not found” page. Is there a way to correct that?

  Problem solved — was able to change the page to a static page and that fixed the URL issue. yay!
