  How do I delete a site from my account?

  Hello,

  Please keep in mind that once you choose to deactivate your account, you’ll NEVER be able to re-use its WordPress.com address again. There are several options you can choose from rather than choosing to delete the site permanently. This is something that you yourself will need to do.

  * Change your site’s address and keep your content

  * Delete old posts and continue using the same address
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/edit-posts-screen/#deleting-posts

  * Empty your site of all its content for a fresh start and continue using the same address

  * Transfer your site to someone else
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account

  * Make your site private so only people you invite can see it
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/

  If you do NOT wish to choose one of the options above and are certain that you wish to delete your site permanently, you can follow this link https://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/

  Again, please make certain you will never want to reuse the address, as it will no longer be available for you or anyone else to use after deleted/deactivated.

  HI, and thank you for this. I’m not trying to deactivate my account. Within my account however there are two sites and one I no longer need. I assumed one could add or delete sites without having to throw the baby out with the bathwater. I think the privacy settings you suggested are fine but it still seems odd to me that I can’t just get rid of the site.

  You’re able to remove the account you no longer need. The very last link within my response above explains how to go about doing it. I just included other options as well.
