  I would like to delete my account. Not make it inactive.

  Hi there,

  Accounts cannot be deleted so we cannot be impersonated by anyone registering and using the same username in the future. Also note that Automattic Inc. owns wordpress.COM and also many other products and services listed here https://automattic.com/ that require a wordpress.COM account. Therefore, account deactivation is provided and account deletion is not provided.

  If you wish to leave WordPress.com, you can easily empty and delete your site. Once this is done remove all personal information from your Account Settings and change your password to a random string. This will leave your account inactive and prevent you from gaining access to it in the future. To do it you can follow the steps at https://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/
